Advanced Technology to LAHS

The Radiology Department from Lisbon Area Health Service benefitted from local fundraising this past week, as a new Konica Minolta Computed Radiography System was installed. The new system was purchased with funds raised locally, in part from the funds raised at the Fall Gala held in November.

The system decreases the time it takes to develop x-rays. “The software allows us to process our x-rays in half the time required by our old system, “stated Kristie Kemmer, Radiology Manager at LAHS. “Our old machine was outdated, so it was in need of replacement. CHI is using this computed radiology system wide, and we were fortunate enough to purchase the top model, which will give us the fastest service, and the most up-to-date software.”

The system acquires the digital picture and sends it to a PACS (archival) computer system for reading and review. Images can be burned onto a CD or printed if requested by a provider.
