The Great Mustache Caper

Lisbon Area Health Services (LAHS) Employees were encouraged to become a sponsor of the 2011 Gala as they had in the past two years. Unique to this year however, was the added incentive of seeing John McCann, Maintenance Director at LAHS, without his thick mustache that he has had for over 35 years.

The bar was set; raise over $500 for a Gala Sponsorship and John would shave off his mustache. The employees had around two weeks to raise the dollars needed, and the dollars trickled in. The news traveled throughout John’s family, and donations were received from family members as well. On the afternoon of the Gala the total pot was a few dollars short, but after a few emails to all employees the dollars started to flow and the $500 incentive was reached!

John was brought to the front during the gala and given some needed utensils for the event to soon be scheduled. On Wednesday December 7th, a group of employees gathered around the conference room table to see the event that they had been waiting for.

John was a great sport, and we thank him immensely for his part in the fund raising process!
